MY FIRST THROUGH THE MAIL AUTOGRAPH…
I still remember my first through the mail autograph, Baseball HOF pitcher Bob Feller! I was maybe 14 or 15 years old. I had a paper route and collected cards. I subscribed to Sports Collectors Digest. There was an autograph article I read on occasion. The article had described how someone wrote to Mr. Feller and he sent a signed Baseball HOF plaque postcard of himself signed! The address used was listed. I had to try it. I thought, I had to write Mr. Feller! I wrote a hand written letter to him. I checked the mail box everyday for two weeks and finally got a response! I WAS SO EXCITED. I opened the envelope and inside was a signed Bob Feller Baseball HOF plaque! I was over the moon. I was hooked and have been collecting ever since…now 40 years later…
